Working With a Coach...
is one of the quickest ways to get from where you are now to where you want to be in the future.
Together we will define your ideal future and establish a plan for making that future a reality.
As your coach, I will be there for you every step of the way.
Here's a fun, 4-minute video that sums it up:
"How Coaching Works"
How it Works
Through a series of sessions, we will explore your wants and wishes, work together to create a vision of your ideal future, establish attainable goals, and identify strategies to overcome obstacles that might hinder your progress. I will be there to support you along the way to success, whatever that may be for you.
How Long Will It Take?
Depending on your vision, some goals may be achievable in a couple of months; others may take a couple of years. The timeline and rate of progress is up to you and depends on your motivations and the amount of time and energy you are willing to commit to achieving your vision.
Accomplishment of long-term goals typically requires a change of habits. (As the saying goes, a person cannot continue to do the same things they’ve always done and expect to get different results than they’ve always gotten.) Building new habits takes time. To capitalize on momentum, most people find it beneficial to meet frequently with their coach, especially in the beginning.
It is recommended that a person start with at least a three-month commitment to coaching. A six-month commitment is often necessary to assure that a new habit can, and will be maintained long-term - to not only create the new habit but also become comfortable with how that new habit affects other aspects of your life.
Depending on the scope or size of your goals and how quickly you want to achieve those goals, you may want to choose weekly or every other week sessions. Less frequent sessions can still be effective; however, this is only advised for those who have previously and regularly worked with a coach and achieved at least six months worth of goals. The bottom line is, the harder you work and the more willing you are to commit to and take action on your goals, the faster you will see results.
Getting Started
You can get started by completing this form, or any of the online forms via my website at stacyfeil.com. Or, you may contact me via email at info@stacyfeil.com and tell me what it is you want to do.
What To Expect Next
After I receive your form or email, I will contact you to schedule a 10-15 minute phone call to discuss your wishes and determine whether or not we are a good fit for working together. If we agree to work together, I’ll send you a welcome letter via email, along with a coaching agreement. The coaching agreement will contain the details about fees, dates, and our commitment to one another - all things we will discuss in our phone call. If you’ve opted to take a pre-session assessment, I’ll send you a link to the assessment in the same email. If we decide, for whatever reason, that we are not a good fit for working together, I will happily refer you to another coach, if you’d like.
Assessments
Assessments are 100% optional. Some people enjoy taking assessments. Others don’t. If you’d prefer not to, it will in no way diminish your ability to achieve your vision.
An assessment is a good way to get a baseline snapshot of where you are before we begin our work together. It gives us insight into what is already working and going right for you, and where you may want to focus your efforts. If you choose to do an assessment, please know that the results of the assessment are not necessarily indicative of your character as a person and are not used to judge good or bad, or imply success or failure on your part. It is merely a snapshot of where you are in the moment.
First Session
We’ll use the information you provide via the online form or email, our phone conversation, and the results of your assessment, if you’ve chosen to do one, as a starting point for the first session.
During this first session, I will guide you through the process of creating a vision for your future. Once we know where you want to end up, we’ll develop a plan to get you there. That plan may include setting mid-term and short-term goals.
A note about goals: Establishing goals and working towards them is a logical process for achieving some things. However, coaching sessions do not necessarily need to be about setting and achieving goals. Sometimes it is as beneficial to simply talk through a situation or challenge, so if the idea of goal-setting does not resonate with you, fear not, we will identify a process that works for you.
Regular Sessions
Regular one-on-one sessions after the first session will typically be 30-50 minutes in length.
At each session, we will:
talk about how things went since we last spoke,
identify what is and isn’t working and make adjustments where needed,
discuss any pressing issues, and
continue the process of moving you closer to your vision.
3-Month Review
At the three-month mark, we will assess and re-evaluate. We will also take a little time to recognize and celebrate your accomplishments and then, if you have chosen to continue, we’ll get to work establishing a new set of three-month goals.
Some clients at this point decide they want to change our approach and try something different; others prefer to continue with the same approach that worked for them in achieving their previous successes. We’ll discuss your preferences and how you want to proceed and then get to work continuing to build towards your long-term vision.
If you took an assessment prior to our first session, I might ask you to retake that same assessment. Although we will already know your progress, retaking the assessment will provide empirical data of that progress. Clients tell me it is both fun and helpful to have a before and after snapshot of their journey.
Expectations and Flexibility
All of your goals are set by you. In other words, I will not tell you what to do. I will assist you in setting your goals, but the goals are yours. I may, at times, challenge you to step outside your comfort zone, but even then it is 100% your choice as to whether you want to accept the challenge.
The coach-client relationship is a partnership. If at any time during our work together you think something needs to change or we need to take a different approach, just let me know. Nothing is set in stone. Through our work, if you discover that your original vision is no longer what you want, we’ll change it; same with the goals. If you realize that the initial goals you set are no longer right for you, we’ll change them.
Regardless of your vision and goals, throughout our work together, you will get my full, undivided attention focused directly on you.
Results
While specific outcomes will differ based on individual differences, all of my clients who engage in the process see significant progress toward their long-term goals and vision.
By the end of the first three months, 90% of my clients have reached more than 70% of their three-month goals. Even those who achieve only a fraction of that report feeling more energized and confident than they did before starting coaching. Nearly all say that they are ready to pursue new endeavors in areas that they had previously never considered.
