What is the single greatest contributor to unhealthy behaviors?

Stress

Why? Because when we experience stress, especially in the forms of anxiety, boredom, or sadness,
we tend to cope by eating "comfort" and junk foods, drinking too much alcohol, smoking, or collapsing on the couch to numb ourselves.

Stress is a signal that something isn't quite right.

What can we do about it?

Increasing awareness of our thoughts and feelings, recognizing that we have choices, and building healthy habits into our lifestyle is often enough to decrease stress and begin reversing the damaging effects of poor choices and unhealthy habits.

Wellness coaching is offered in three different settings:

One-on-One Coaching

Work at your own pace in private sessions with a professional coach specifically trained in health and wellness coaching.

Express your thoughts, idea, struggles, and concerns in a safe, judgement-free space where you are the center of attention.

Your coach will partner with you to create a vision of your ideal future, define a plan to make that vision a reality, and support you as you progress toward your idea of your best you.

Group Coaching

Reach your dreams through the powerful and proven effectiveness of group coaching.

Work alongside others who share your interests and goals, as well as your challenges, and reach a level of success beyond what can be achieved with one-on-one coaching alone.

A professional coach trained in facilitation, and health and wellness, will guide you through the process of becoming your best you.

Groups are capped at seven members so that each person has a deep and meaningful experience.

Family Coaching

Enhance your bond with the ones you love.

A professional health and wellness coach trained in family dynamics and facilitation will guide you in fostering change and growth.

Learn how to communicate in a safe space where the emphasis is on recognizing and supporting one another's strengths and individuality while improving the depth and quality of your family dynamics.

Note: Family coaching is currently only available to local families meeting with a coach in person.

Assessment

Complete an assessment to provide a baseline of where you are starting.

Assessments are optional. If you do choose to take one, we will use the same assessment at the three-month mark to gauge your progress.

Initial Session

When our scheduled time comes, we'll get started with our initial session.

This is typically our longest session and can be expected to last about 90 minutes.

Ongoing Sessions

We'll meet regularly either in 30-60 minute 1:1 sessions, or in 90 minute group sessions, and get you to the wellness that you've always dreamed of.

How does payment work?

The packages quoted above are a discounted price for payment in full. Purchase of a package gives you priority in my schedule over those purchasing by the month or hour.

Per month or hourly rates are due at the time of service.

Do you offer payment plans for coaching packages?

Yes! If you would prefer to set up a payment plan, please let me know and we'll work something out.

Do you offer refunds for coaching packages if I change my mind?

What is coaching exactly?

There are a lot of different ideas about what coaching really is. To some, a coach tells you what to do and how to do it - think sports and acting. The kind of coaching we'll be doing is a bit different than that.

I will ask you questions that will uncover your strengths and motivations and help you make decisions that are best for you. I will meet you where you are in whatever stage of readiness you are in. I will not tell you what to do. I will, at times, challenge you to step outside your comfort zone, but the decision to accept the challenge, or not, is 100% up to you.

My job as your coach is to guide you, enable you, and empower you in the direction of your dreams. I will be there for you when you have a setback and support you in whatever decisions you make.

Is coaching like therapy?

Yes and no.

Like therapy, you are the center of attention. We will talk about what's on your mind, both the good and the bad, and sometimes even the ugly.

Unlike therapy, we will not necessarily try to figure out why you are the way you. We will discuss what is troubling you and, when you're ready, we will turn our attention to what might be done about it. 

Is group coaching like group therapy?

Yes and no.

Like group therapy, the group will form a bond that is deep and meaningful. Everyone will have opportunity to express themselves in a safe, judgement free, space. And, the conversations within the group are considered confidential.

While things may come up that are unpleasant, unlike group therapy, we will not necessarily try to figure out the root cause of the issue or why you are the way you. We will discuss what is troubling you and, when you're ready, we will turn our attention to what you might do about it.

Is there a professional standard for coaching?

Yes, there is.

The International Coach Federation has developed and defined core coaching competencies and a professional code of ethics and standards of conduct. These competencies and ethical standards, to which I hold myself and all coaches I partner with, are one of the reasons I'm so confident in the effectiveness of professional coaching. Another organization, the International Association of Coaches also defines core competencies, they call masteries, and a professional code of conduct and ethical principles. Is coaching done over the phone?

Most often yes. If not meeting face-to-face concerns you, it may comfort you to know that voice-to-voice communication can actually be more powerful than face-to-face interactions. The voice can carry the same expression as the face and body, and meeting over the phone eliminates the distractions of appearance and movement. People are often surprised when I pick up on subtle emotions or thoughts over the phone that they didn't even know they were expressing, or thought I wouldn't notice because I couldn't "see" them.

Clients living in or near my current location may choose to set up in-person sessions.
